Knowledge they say is power. Without which, one could be experiencing the signs and symptoms of a dire situation but would be unable to recognize it as a problem.

A gynaecologic problem may be defined as a problem that has to do with the woman’s reproductive system such as her breast, vagina or uterus.

A health problem always manifests itself in symptoms and signs, some of which may be waved as unserious by the carrier.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms however, you should pay an immediate visit to your doctor as it could be a gynaecologic issue:

  1. Smelly Discharge: White or clear vagina discharge is normal and expected in every woman, a discharge can be a sign of ovulation or simply an indication of your body system cleaning itself out. When the discharge is yellow in color however, green or brown and is accompanied with a foul odor, you should notify your doctor as soon as possible.
  1. Painful Intercourse: Sex is meant to be pleasurable. Where all you feel in the process of meeting with your husband is pain, you should let your doctor know.
  1. Vaginal dryness: Is your vagina abnormally dry? Does it stay dry even during and after foul play with your spouse whom you are attracted to? The woman’s body is designed to react to touch, where a woman is sexually excited, blood flow gushes to the genitals and the vagina becomes wet. So if you are not experiencing lubrication in your vagina even while sexually aroused, it could be an indication of an underlying problem.
  1. Solid Lumps In The Breast: There is normal breast tissue that usually feels lumpy, if this lumpiness can be felt all around the breast and even in the other breast, then it is probably just normal breast tissue, but where the lumps feel hard, different from the other lumps in the breast, fixed or solid and maybe even painful (which is not always the case) then you should get it checked immediately to ascertain what type of lumps there are.
  1. Pain During Urination: Do you feel excruciating pain while peeing? And right after you pee, do you feel the pressure to go again even though you only just went? If yes then you should see a doctor for this.
  1. Itching, redness, swelling in the Vagina: Be sure to visit your doctor to get this checked as it could be a Urinary tract infection or a possibly sexually transmitted disease.
  1. Smelly Vagina: Is this you? Some women have a smelly vagina and have their partners complain about the situation. They are not itching or discharging, it seems like they are doing everything by the books yet that odor won’t go away, if this is you, you need to seek professional help.
  1. Pelvic/abdominal pain: Do you feel unusual pain in your abdomen different from menstrual cramps? Or are the menstrual cramps so excessive that it feels out of place? See your doctor to get the situation diagnosed and sorted out.
  1. Zero Ovulation and Irregular periods: If your periods are unstable or you’ve noticed that your body does not ovulate sometimes or at all, kindly tell your situation to your doctor.
  1. Heavy periods: A normal period is not supposed to purge out excessiveblood, if your period is so heavy that sometimes you even have to use multiple pads, don’t wait for the moment to pass and then forget it, visit your doctor, it may be more than it seems.
